Founded 70 years ago in 1948, our 18 hole course is one of the finest examples of traditional parkland golf in Scotland. Tucked away on the edge of the idyllic Hirsel Estate in the Scottish Borders, Hirsel Golf Club in Coldstream is open for its members, the general public and visiting golfers to enjoy. We extend a warm welcome to visitors from far and near.

Come and play our hidden gem. Soak up the atmosphere that only comes from a course of great stature and a truly magnificent setting. You won’t be disappointed!

Our green fees apply to groups of up to 4 players, weekdays and weekends.

For groups of 8 or more golfers, the Club offers a full range of golf packages and facilities tailored for golf societies, corporate golf days and company days. Visiting parties are especially welcome to enjoy all the facilities on offer and we can provide packages to meet all needs large and small. The Club is proud to host a popular range of Open Competitions where we are pleased to welcome new and returning visitors every year.

Equipment Hire

Hirsel Golf Club offers equipment hire to help you enjoy your visit.

We have six electric buggies available for hire.

Should you require a buggy, an electric trolley or a set of clubs, please telephone the Professional Shop in advance on 01890 882156 to ensure the equipment can be reserved for your visit.

Clubhouse

Our contemporary Clubhouse complements the stunning setting of the course with views over the 1st and 18th holes. A popular post-round location is the balcony to enjoy a drink or snack whilst reflecting on your round of golf. We have two modern functions rooms available in addition to ample free on-site parking.

The bar and restaurant offers freshly prepared fare to suit all appetites and stocks an impressive range of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. Opening hours are listed on our Bar and Restaurant page but can vary, so please check in advance beforehand.

The Course

Our picturesque parkland course is maintained in superb condition by the green keeping team.  It provides a challenging and enjoyable test of golf for all levels of golfer. It is 6,024 yards (Par 70) for men off the medal tees and a 5,302 yards (Par 72) for ladies.

The course is conveniently located off the A698 at Coldstream, a one hour drive from the Edinburgh City bypass, or a one hour drive from where the A697 leaves the A1 north of Newcastle.

Professional Shop

We boast a well-stocked Professional Shop with a wide selection of merchandise, equipment and accessories available. Our professional Daniel Wood and his team would be delighted to help you and can often source any products you wish at a competitive price.

The Shop staff also play a significant role in the running of the Club organising medals, competitions and controlling the Tee Sheet.

Dress Code

Dress code is smart casual on the course and in the Clubhouse. Spikes are permitted but please ensure golf shoes are not worn upstairs in the bar and lounge areas.
