Daniel Wood - Head PGA Professional
Turning professional in 2009 and qualifying as a PGA Professional in 2011 coincided with Daniel moving to Hirsel Golf Club in March 2011 and taking on his new role.
So far some of his Hirsel Golf club career highlights have been creating a Junior section, where already two juniors have come through to win the Men’s Club Championships, as well as working with the Club's Committee and Staff to continually grow the Club, creating a modern and enjoyable experience for all our members and visitors.
2022 was a fantastic season! Firstly being awarded the PGA Advanced Professional Award and then in the summer, despite the lack of competition golf, Daniel won on the PGA Circuit for the first time since 2011.
Russell Tait - Head Pro Shop Assistant
Russell has been a member for over 30 years since starting out as a junior member. He started working at the Pro Shop in 2013 and has been a regular first face to meet members and visitors who arrive at the Club.
From retail buying help or getting those clubs re-gripped, Russell will be on hand to help with your requests. He is a keen golfer who still enjoys playing and also getting away from time to time for a day’s golf on the coast.
Aaron Borthwick - Pro Shop Assistant
2022 Club Champion and +1 handicap with a goal to turn professional in the future, Aaron joined us part-time in 2022. He will become full-time in 2023, filling the role of Pro Shop Assistant and Junior Convener.
Along side shop duties Aaron main focus will be to continue to work with and develop the Club's Junior Section now he is PGA Level 1 coach.
